Product Filter

now a days its very important for customer to find quickly the items you have to offer and buy and be done with it, two pouplar filters are YITH, and PWF both have thier pros and cons, Yith Pro's 1. Yith has all you need, you can choose Filter with toxonomy ( brands, categories, etc. ) and also can use filter by tags, or colors. 2.0 you can titles the tags or any selection, for example if my 2 Liter tags is 2L for quick entry, I can title it 2 Liter it has AND/ OR selection as well, so if I am selecting a brand PEPSI, it will show me all pepsi goods, and then if I select 2 Liters, it will show me pepsi 2 liters ( with the button) Yith Con's 1. its easy to do taxonomy, as all the brands will be selected, but when you are going with tags, we have over 500 tags, color, sizes, sexes, and many others, so tags selection you have to type the tag name in order to select. so if you miss, you wont know it, and it wont appear, and also if you have more tags added in size or color, you have to go back and make sure you type it in there, or if you miss, it wont get added because list is long, and you wont remember it. But now since we implemented the attributes. We don't care to select the tags as attributes. 2.0 And / Or doesnt work with Ajax, so if you select Pepsi in brands, the filter goes away, then have to go back, and do 2 liters, defeats the purpose, And / Or works only if no ajax, and you have to hit button filter, after selection. sucks 3.0 all the filters are in one window , so customer dont know there are more filter under brand filters unless they scroll down, i think it would be Brand Filter, Category Filter, Size Filter, Color Filter, and so on in thier own window. PWF Pro's 1.0 Ajax Search is fine, you can Multiselect filters, and it wont disappear on you like Yith. 2. It has Tag Selection window, so you dont have to remember the tags, you can select it and school down to see which one you forgot if you are doing size, and later if more gets added, you can select those as well one shot. PWF Con's 1. it has everything, but no Title for tags, which really sucks, as we tag the items in short, like 2l, 1l, 5000p is 5000 Puffs. so Title the tags to show on the front is very much useful. 2. it has the same issue as Yith, all the filters are in one window, so customer dont know if there are more filters, done with my rant ") please kindly implement Filter in great details in your theme, its much needed, more refine filter is needed, I have tried many plugin, but all of them have some issues

Hello, Shehzad Ghazi At present, we are working on improving the categorization filtering for the following request: https://8theme.upvoty.com/b/xstore/8theme-filter-products-by… In one of our recent updates, we have also released improvements for the Brand Filters widget, which allows for brand search for filtering (for this, you need to select the Dropdown (select2) display type as shown in the screenshot https://prnt.sc/fH4VbEUocR4y ) and you will get the following result https://gyazo.com/043a06b7c436d0551749f2c0b7384fb9. We would also be grateful if you could provide screenshots or links with examples of the filters' work. We are constantly improving our filtering system, but we are doing it gradually so as not to break our clients' projects. Best Regards, 8Theme's Team.

Filters now are super extensive and there are many ways you can show them. The best plugin I have found for that is berocket which has many ways you can show filters. Nested ways. Compact ways. And many other. Plus use of taxonomy attributes is also good. I am using for brands, size, type, package, and can select whichever way and it filters. From your example of drop down you can only select one brand. For filters you want to do multiselect. If you need license for berocket. I have one extra I can do it for you for testing purposes.

Any news on 8theme filters. ?

Currently the theme falls short here and needs a 3rd party plugin. A good effective E-comm store must have a good filter system. At the moment it is too basic. Will this ever be improved upon? Any reason why for a theme so well sold and established that this has not been done already?
